Anita is a little girl full of joy and happiness, she loves playing dolls with her sisters and drawing cartoons, she loves animals, she lives with dogs, cats, and farm animals, her family is very important in her development. She is treated like another daughter, without discrimination and thanks to their love and constant motivation, Anita has made great progress, but she still has a lot to improve. At CRISMA Anita is the joy, she loves to play and spend time with her therapists.
Anita lives with her parents and her nine siblings, her oldest brother is 31 years old. Her father is a bricklayer and her mother is a housewife, besides working with reeds to make baskets and sell them to have money to feed her children.
When Anita's mother was pregnant, she had a bad fall, despite that Anita was born by natural childbirth without complications, but at the time of birth she did not cry and was purple, she spent 7 days in the hospital for observation. At the age of 3 months, she was hospitalized for 4 days due to respiratory problems, later she was diagnosed with psychomotor developmental delay due to neurological alteration
After her diagnosis, Anita presented multiple problems that prevented her from walking properly, so her treatment plan at CRISMA is focused on strengthening her psychomotor system to increase muscle tone, gait, bipedal coordination, eye-hand coordination, visual and auditory stimulation, strengthening of anti-gravitational muscles, among others.
Today Anita has made great advances in her treatment and continues to seek the independence she deserves.
Since he was inside his mommy's womb, Rubén presented several complications and multiple threats of miscarriage, and being born prematurely. When he was born due to complications, he spent 20 days in the hospital due to neonatal hypoxia and other problems.
Rubén lives with his father and mother. He is an only child, from a humble family, where his father works in construction and his mother is a housewife and dedicates her time to taking care of him.
At CRISMA Rubén has a child physiotherapy program focused on completing the area of development of sitting or trunk control, in addition to reducing the muscle tone of the limbs that do not allow the optimal development of conscious movements.
Rubén controls his head, makes half turns, and grasps objects with his hands, and with proper treatment, Ruben will be able to have more control over his body and seek the independence he deserves.
"When I was two months pregnant, I discovered I was expecting. Initially, I couldn't believe it because I was told I couldn't have children without a long treatment I never had.
At four months, I experienced miscarriage threats and bleeding, which continued every two months. My baby was born prematurely with complications due to low birth weight, low amniotic fluid, and a bad placenta. I couldn't believe he survived amidst so much suffering and uncertainty.
After birth, they wrapped and cleaned him, and the next day he was taken to incubation for two months and a week. I had to leave him at the hospital, visiting only twice a day for half an hour since my husband couldn't visit.
I feared he would die from infections and viruses. Every day, I hoped to see him and find him well. Now, he is a miracle and my immense happiness. He needs therapies to strengthen his psychomotor system, but he is alive, thank God.
CRISMA has been a beacon of hope for us. My baby has made great progress with their help. We still have a long way to go, but I trust the therapists' knowledge and love for my child to help him succeed."
