CRISMA focuses on improving the health and quality of life of people suffering from physical or neurological disabilities, by providing cutting-edge rehabilitation services coupled with a deep humanitarian sense.
CRISMA (Centro Rehabilitacion Integral San Miguel de Allende) is a state-of-the-art outpatient rehabilitation facility located on the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, a romantic town in the heart of Mexico, which has been named “One of the Safest Towns in Mexico” by U.S. News Travel.
CRISMA serves a largely impoverished patient population, with about 70% living in poverty. It is part of the Vamos Mexico Foundation created by President Fox and his wife, Dona Marta Sahagun Fox, and is a 501(c)(3) Foundation.
The new facility started in 2020 serves the local community with a full-time staff of medical professionals. The caring staff sees approximately 330 patients monthly. The age groups range from 3 months to 90 years.
Currently, CRISMA cares for 160 pediatric patients and 170 adult patients. The cost per session is capped at $20 and is estimated on income. Most patients pay US $1 per treatment. CRISMA absorbs 95% of the total cost of rehabilitation services.
CRISMA employs a comprehensive healthcare model to develop and enhance patient autonomy, enabling them to reach their full potential and independence.
Healthcare students will gain firsthand experience with patients, from infants to stroke and accident victims. This approach combines psychological analysis with personalized treatment plans.
