In her role, Kirsten facilitates educational collaborations between CRISMA’s state-of-the-art outpatient clinic and graduate students from esteemed US universities. Her focus spans key disciplines, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Audiology.
Kirsten’s work is instrumental in providing students with invaluable hands-on experience through clinical rotations. By offering these rotations in the enchanting city of San Miguel de Allende, students are immersed in a unique cultural and clinical environment.

Maria Micalco currently serves as the General Director of the Vamos México Foundation, CRISMA, and Centro Fox. For the past five years, she served as Operations Coordinator of the State Training Institute of Guanajuato. During her tenure, she oversaw the Institutes’ 31 campuses and High Technology Centers, where she was instrumental in managing and directing human resources of 400 employes. As part of her career in public administration, she also served as Director of Communication Studies at the Education Department for the State of Guanajuato, and as Public Policies Coordinator in the Governments’ Cabinet of the State of Guanajuato.
Ms. Micalco graduated from the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla with a degree in Communications Sciences, and obtained a Master’s degree in Social and Political Communication from the Universidad de la Salle Bajío. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree in Positive Leadership from the Universidad Tecmilenio.
Ms. Micalco completed the Advanced Certificate in Women's Empowerment through Education, Technical and Professional Training at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Chennai, India. In addition, she completed the Theory and Practice of Negotiation for Professionals from the Graduate School of Public Administration and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School.
